What Is an OPG Scan?

An OPG (Orthopantomogram) is a panoramic X-ray that captures a full picture of your upper and lower jaws, all of your teeth, and the surrounding bone in a single image. It's one of the most commonly used dental X-rays and provides essential information that a standard in-mouth X-ray simply can't.

OPG scans are routinely used to:

What Is a CBCT Scan?

A CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) scan is a more advanced form of 3D dental imaging. Where an OPG gives you a flat panoramic image, CBCT produces a detailed three-dimensional view of the teeth, bone, nerve canals, and surrounding structures. It's an essential tool for complex treatment planning.

CBCT scans are particularly useful for:

• Implant planning , to assess bone volume, density, and the position of key structures such as the inferior alveolar nerve
• Endodontic (root canal) treatment, especially in complex cases with unusual root anatomy
• Assessing impacted teeth including wisdom teeth and canines
• TMJ (jaw joint) evaluation
• Surgical planning for oral surgery procedures
