In July 2026, the Upper Tribunal ruled that Clear Aligners are no longer exempt from VAT. In plain terms, the aligners themselves are now treated as a standard-rated product, which means 20% VAT is added to the cost of the aligners every practice buys..

Importantly, this is a change to what the aligners cost us as a practice, not a change to the standard of your clinical care. Your treatment is still led by our specialist orthodontist, still digitally planned, and still delivered with the same attention it always has been. What has changed is the cost of the appliances that make it possible.

Why prices are going up

When the cost of a core part of treatment rises across the board, practices have to decide how to respond. Some absorb part of the increase, others pass it on in full. We've looked carefully at what's fair and sustainable, and from October our clear aligner packages will increase by £200 each.

How to lock in today's price

To secure treatment at our current fees, the key is to get started before our October increase. That usually means one of the following:

• Having your treatment plan agreed
• Securing full payment before October, financing the full amount will secure the price
